About us

During the last 11 years Baltic Charity Foundation in Baltic countries provided support for approximately 3 000 families. 1000 heifers, approximately 1000 sheep, 80 goats, 250 bee families with bee hives, 40 goose, 50 horses, 120 rabbits with cages, tree seedlings, willows, hens and earth worms became the Baltic Foundation gifts to the families. In 2011 spring Baltic Foundation is providing potatoes seeds to 14 rural communities in Lithuania.

Supporting the mission of Heifer International, the Baltic Foundation is providing help to low-income and socially vulnerable people and communities, by working towards the sustainable development of livestock and knowledge.

Within this context, the Baltic Foundation facilitates and supports the participation processes of development at the grassroots level, in order to strengthen and develop:

• An integrated vision: environment, people, and animals

• Micro – enterprises

• Gender equity and youth development projects

• Grass – roots organizations

• Sustainable utilization and protection of the environment

• Food security

• Social initiative

• Assistance to rural NGOs Altogether with the partners inside the country and abroad Baltic Foundation is working on more than 30 projects.

2010 09 18 Unusual "harvest" in Gelvonai for better future
Gelvonai is small town with 400 habitants, school with dorm which has almost 300 students (including classes for grown-ups), church, post office and library. People are here hard working, but however not rich. Many of younger generation emigrated abroad to look for better jobs or left to bigger Lithuanian cities.
